About Menchville Baptist Church

At Menchville Baptist Church, our mission is to love God and love people, fulfilling Jesus Christ’s Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37–39), and to make disciples of all nations, living out His Great Commission (Matthew 28:19–20).

We desire to see lives transformed by the power of the gospel—beginning right here in Newport News and extending to the ends of the earth. As a church family, we are committed to connecting with our neighbors, serving our community with compassion, and sharing the hope of Jesus in both word and action.

Our prayer is that every person who encounters MBC will experience God’s love, grow in faith, and be challenged to share the good news of Jesus in their everyday lives!

We begin by making a spiritual connection with God. He invites us into relationship with Him through Jesus, and we respond by seeking Him in worship, prayer, and His Word. As we follow Him, we also learn to connect with one another—building genuine relationships that encourage, support, and strengthen us in faith.

GROW

Growth happens over time, as we draw closer to Christ and learn to walk with Him daily. This is a journey shaped by Scripture, discipleship, and shared life with other believers. We grow in our relationship with Christ personally, and together we grow in community—helping each other take the next step in faith.

Faith expresses itself through service. At MBC, we serve within the church, supporting one another and strengthening the body of Christ. We also serve our local community with compassion and generosity. And beyond that, we serve the Kingdom of God—living out the mission of Jesus wherever He leads.

Our faith is meant to be shared. We go by inviting others to experience the same connection, growth, and belonging we have found in Christ and in community. Whether across the street or across the world, we carry the hope of the gospel and the love of Jesus with us.
